Tour of London

Good morning from Blackheath, England!

I was up at a lovely hour around 8:30am! when I woke up to Wade, hungover, smashing at my iPhone to turn off the alarm which he failed at miserably.... I turned it off and climbed over his half-dead body to change and head down for breakfast.

I woke up in a giggly mood ready for the day of touring and shopping, had yogurt, orange juice and a banana for brekkie and then got ready for the day when my mother walked down the stairs in a huff since the children and by children I mean not me, I went to bed at 3am while the other stayed up and by the morning we had all polished off: 20 beers, a 40 of Bacardi Rum, a 20 of Canadian Club which was mums and which was the bottle she had brought to London just for her enjoyment... when she came down this morning was not happy indeed!

After a long morning of gathering bodies out of beds we eventually just gathered Mel, pops, Mum and I and headed into town stopping first at Harrods shopping centre... Mum seemed extremely excited or disapproving about the dog shop on the 4th floor of the mall, now that I write this she is beside me talking on the phone speaking of it as I type.

After a quick sweep through Harrods we headed to New Bond St for more shopping, it is one of the main streets for shops and etc (I thought on the more expensive side: Hermes, Cartier, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, etc) we stopped for lunch at the Cart and Horse Pub which was the essence of an English pub, very cool with some great food.

Our walk up and down New Bond St was mostly uneventful expect for the second or two it took for me to drop my phone and smash the back of it on the concrete sidewalk. Between the shopping and the walking up and down through the crowds it was in my needed interest to stop and stand in an old telephone booth... I felt the need to do it, it basically forced me!

We did how ever get some goofy looks when dad made some "close" friends on a park bench in the centre of the sidewalk in the forms of Winston Churchill and Teddy Rosevolt which dad took a rather high opinion of.                                       What topped it off was the multitudes of passing "Londoners" who found Pops humour not as funny as maybe the rest of the family did...
The day went on for a long while it seemed, a quick stop at a counterfeit store to get my phone fixed up and buy a cheap, fake "gameboy" iPhone case to protect it on Oxford Street and walked through the London Olympic store which was filled with crap... no offence Olympic Committee but lunch boxes, Stuffies and plastic chairs and tables? really... there wasn't much shirts but it was still okay, especially when we left, I was able to get 2 Aussie shirts and an Aussie bag, a few coins (archery and equestrian) and a few keychains, would be great souvenirs for home and etc, the olympic t-shirts I kind of just get sick of and get rid of.

The rest of the day was a drive through the London bridge, passed Big Ben and the Eye which was wicked and I can't wait to go on it!! Other then all of that I believe it was an easy night, walked through Blackheath for dinner and went to bed early because the show is starting tomorrow and its going to be an early morning.
Going to bed at midnight would be great if that had actually happened... But with a few goofy conversations with Wade, talking to my man on the computer for the first time in 3 days, and reading my book on my eReader till 2am then it was a battle between my hatred for time changes.

It is a lovely place and I can't wait to get into the show and see the Olympics unfold.
